Mutton Korma

When you're in the mood for goat...


Ingredients:
2 lbs. mutton
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
1 1/2 tablespoon minced ginger
1 tablespoon red chili powder
1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons coriander powder
8-10 cloves
2 inch cinnamon stick
5 cardamom pods
3 bay leaves (optional)
10-15 whole black pepper corns
2 large or 3 medium onions
Couple tablespoons oil (for light frying)
1 cup yogurt
1/2 cup water

Directions:
Chop onions and fry them in oil until medium brown. Take out of oil and spread onions out. Cool them then crush them with hands.

In the same oil, fry garlic, then add meat. Fry for 5 minutes. Add all spices and the yogurt. Add 1/2 cup of water. Cook for ~2 hours at medium-low heat.

When meat is completely cooked, add fried onions and cook for ~5 minutes.
